Founded in Recife, Brazil, in the beginning of 2010, Kalouv is an encounter of ten hands that produce instrumental music, making use of the many musical memories that each one of them have. They are:

Their musicality is expressed by many characteristics from post-rock, ambient and progressive rock – with guitars full of delay and reverb, distorted riffs, beautiful piano themes and high doses of ambience – but they also carry with themselves the many influences from Brazil and their city, Recife, with a rich musical culture.
In may of 2010, with only two demos recorded, the band received many concert opportunities, that included one show in the Centro Cultural do Sol, with the band Labirinto, Grito Rock, which is a set of concerts that happen in all America Latina, and many others shows.

SKY SWIMMER – Finishing a cycle initiated in January of 2011, the band releases its first official record, the disk Sky Swimmer. The work is shared freely by the net label Sinewave, known by their constant support with many Brazilian experimental bands like S.O.M.A., Herod Layne, Elma, team.radio., and many others.
The album was produced and mixed by the producer Diogo Guedes and mastered by Don Grossinger, who has a history of working with many huge projects, like Pink Floyd or Flaming Lips. The art is in the hands of the talented illustrator Ianah Maia.
In 36 minutes – distributed in 7 tracks – , the listener can experience the same sensation of the central character in the cover, justifying the title Sky Swimmer, referring to the freedom of creation that this first work could provide.

MinionTV are a 5-piece atmospheric instrumental rock band from Liverpool.

Arecibo is their latest self released EP. It is named after the observatory in Arecibo in Peurto Rico. They released an amazing album last year and this follow up is just as good.

Consisting of 5 tracks spanning 22 minutes.  The tracks vary in length from just under a minute (Send) to over 7 minutes (Arecibo) After many many listens I thought that Arecibo was my favorite track then it changed to Keep The Negatives then it was Tomorrow Will Bring Bulldozers. I guess what I am trying to say that this is an amazing release and the only issue is that it is all over in 22 minutes. But then that gives you time to really decide on that favorite track, or in my case change that decision after every listen. The packaging is also rather smart.

It really is a captivating listen if you like atmospheric, cinematic instrumental music. Go check out MinionTV, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

The Television Sky is an original instrumental rock band formed in 2009 in Melbourne. Their music is a smouldering fusion of classical and post-rock influences.

Their debut record We Trust That The Moon Shall Guide Us is a stark exploration of their formativeworks and will be on Sunday 6 November 2011.

We Trust That The Moon Shall Guide Us was produced by The Television Sky and local sound engineer Peter Sergeev.

The Television Sky really upkeep the high standards that we have come to expect of post-rock bands from Australia. This is a real solid album clocking in at just under 35 minutes and has 6 tracks. Ignore this release at your peril.

“Invisible City,” Tunturia’s equivalent of “Chinese Democracy,” will be available on October 28th throughOxide Tones. The album is a narrative based loosely around the Russian folk tale of the City of Kitezh. But don’t let the pretentious subject matter fool you, the record is an enjoyable musical romp touching on ambient, post rock and instrumental sounds which hopefully, unlike “Chinese Democracy,” won’t be a terribly prolonged and bloated musical disappointment.

We’re excited to finally be able to share this with everyone. The album has been the culmination of a lot of hard work and, despite numerous delays and false starts, we’re glad to finally get it into the hands of everyone who bore with us these past few years. Thanks to everyone’s patience and support and to all the people who helped make it happen.

The history of Larkian and Yellow6 traces back to around 2001 when Cyril was running the Tricycle Evolutif record label. He invited Jon to release a 7″ single on the label and this, ‘Grey’ was released early 2002. There were some discussions about a split release at the time but this never came about. Forward to 2009 and Cyril and Jon get back in contact via individual releases on the same labels (October Man, Cathedral Transmissions). Cyril sends a track for Jon to contribute to and the collaboration that has become ‘Offtempo’ began. After around a year of file exchange, composition and recordings, the first common collaborative effort by Yellow6 and Larkian was ready to find a home.
Neither Larkian or Yellow6 are easily categorised, but both differ from each other. The mixing of the two styles creates something all its own whilst retaining the individual. By using an impressive range of effects and ways to play guitar ‘Offtempo’ offers various sound textures and landscapes, from shoegaze inspired reverb to atmospheric  ambiences or epic post-rock melodies. At times, it is hard to say who played what, which is a good thing, showing it is not just a superposition of two different styles. The music tends towards the melancholy but maintains an air of optimism.
